Primary Programs

This program is dedicated to children between the ages of 18-36 months or until toilet trained, whichever comes first. The materials are Montessori-based, and include sensorial, preliminary practical life activities, preliminary math, language and cultural activities which satisfy your child’s need for imitation, work, and order. Your child experiences satisfaction in learning to care for himself as more and more independence becomes possible for him. The activities are designed to provide your child with the skills they need to be successful in our Primary Program. The child will sort, grasp, make comparisons, and will be introduced to phonetic sounds and quantities. This helps them develop the small muscle skill that it takes to become a successful writer and the cognitive skill that he needs to feel fulfilled. Details on your child’s behavior and the activities that your child participated in during the day are provided to you in our daily report.

Children ages 3 to 6 years old will be considered for enrollment into the Primary Program. Children need to be completely toilet trained and must show a social maturity to adapt to the group interactions and activities. Our preschoolers will have the opportunity to develop their skills in: Practical Life, Sensorial, Geography/Science, Language and Mathematics.  Following the Montessori philosophy throughout their time at Children’s house Montessori, we will encourage a daily respect for their teachers, friends and the environment. Montessori of North Park offers an authentic Montessori programs. The environment is carefully prepared with activities and child-size furniture. This allows the child to have an unforgettable experience that becomes a solid foundation for the child’s life-long journey. Our Preschool and toddlers Center offers a year-round program with both full- and half-day attendance. Half-day sessions are available on a limited space/availability basis.

After a full day of learning methods and education, we spend time in our after school program guiding and educating your child in extracurricular activities.  We have excellent music teachers whom use flutes, clarinets, and other musical instruments to show your child how music is played and how one can learn music notes.  For a physical activity, we have dance teachers that play Montessori rhymes and teach your child the meaning of the song as well as instruct in Montessori level dances to go along with the music.  We also have sports education as well, that teaches your child the different sports that are in the world today.  We make sure that each child receives a firm foundation in every sport before actually trying the physical activity.  All children do not have to participate in these activities, but we always encourage our children to challenge themselves and learn something new each and every part of the day.
